WELCOME!

AHC College Fair Day is dedicated to 6th – 12th grade students interested in continuing their harp studies beyond high school. If you are planning to make music part of your college experience, this is your chance to virtually meet harp professors from universities throughout the Southern United States and learn about harp degree programs, elective studies, orchestral and ensemble opportunities, and studio policies.

Along with that invaluable information students will also have the opportunity to get helpful feedback from our esteemed faculty during our Student Showcase! The Student Showcase is available on a first come, first served basis. Check out the schedule and register today!

Schedule for the Day

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT? COLLEGE PRESENTATIONS

Each of our renowned faculty members will give a short virtual presentation with information regarding opportunities available to harpists at their institution. Learn about becoming a harp major or minor, ensemble opportunities, private lessons, and scholarship availability.

BEHIND THE SCENES: THE COLLEGE AUDITION

Join the Q&A session and find out what instructors are listening and looking for in an admission audition. There are so many repertoire and excerpt options, let our panel of experts guide you through the process of how to choose the piece that will give you an advantage at your audition! Some of the questions that will be addressed include: Is it acceptable to choose a piece not on the required audition list? What do they mean when they ask for a “modern” solo? How long does
the audition usually take? And, be sure to submit your own questions when you register!

STUDENT SHOWCASE

Students are encouraged to submit a pre-recorded performance of a 5-7 minute solo piece of any level. Videos must be emailed in an mp4 format to info@atlantaharpcenter.com by Thursday, October 15th. Student performances will be streamed in the afternoon and our esteemed faculty will have comment sheets available to help you take your piece to the next level. Once the day is finished, the comment sheets will be emailed directly to the participating students. Please note that there are only 8 spots available to participate in the student showcase, the positions will be given to the first students who request to participate.

Please contact Megan Landfair at newjersey@vaharpcenter.com or call 856-428-1430 if you have any questions.
