This arrangement is of one of the most popular and requested hymns, for lever or pedal harp. Crafted for the intermediate player, it opens with a contemplative introduction, followed by the theme in the right hand, accompanied by a sixteenth-note pattern in the left hand. Played at a slow tempo, and with much rubato, the sixteenth patterns will fall readily into the left hand. The arrangement makes use of alternate harmonizations and rhythms from the original, while easily recognizable as the popular hymn. There are versions included for harp in D and E flat, with no lever or pedal changes. This is a "must-have" piece for religious and memorial services.
