Designed in 1919, the Lyon & Healy Style 11 is an iconic example of Art Nouveau elegance, featuring ornately carved columns, base frame, and feet. The harp’s brass action plate boasts a decorative motif created specifically for this model, and every instrument is hand-carved by master artisans. Accented with 23-karat gold gilding and delicate floral details, the Style 11 is as visually captivating as it is sonically warm and resonant.
This pre-owned 1973 Style 11 is crafted in stunning bird’s eye maple and remains structurally sound. It has been recently regulated (April 2025) and features a new set of strings, making it fully playable. There is a slight twist in the neck, which has been reflected in the pricing. Some clicking in the action is present, and a rerivit would be needed for complete noise elimination. Additionally, string placement has minor irregularities, similar to a lever harp when the lever is engaged, affecting string alignment slightly.
Cosmetically, the harp shows signs of its age, including some flaking of the gold gilding and a small soundboard separation. Despite these vintage characteristics, the harp remains a stunning instrument visually and musically, offering a unique opportunity to own a classic Lyon & Healy with true character.
