A collection of seven beloved Christmas carols, beautifully improvised by Brook Boddie in his unmistakable style. These arrangements have a particularly special history: the recordings were recently rediscovered on a CD that Brook originally created as a
Christmas gift for family and friends. Bill Ooms carefully transcribed the music directly from the original recording, preserving Brook’s improvisations as they were actually played, and Rhett Barnwell edited the transcriptions for this edition. The result offers harpists a rare opportunity to experience and perform these charming arrangements much as Brook himself played them.
Filled with Brook’s characteristic warmth, spontaneity, and musical sensitivity, the collection offers fresh and expressive treatments of familiar Christmas favorites. Most of the arrangements are relatively simple and accessible at an easy-intermediate level, while still retaining the distinctive musical touches that make Brook’s playing so recognizable.
Arranged for pedal harp or lever harps tuned in E-flat or C, with some lever or pedal changes required. The carols are all in the keys of C or G.
This is the companion to Brook Boddie’s previously released Christmas collection, Silent Night, Volume 1.
